ÉMIM is a trilingual learning environment; French and English are taught with equal importance starting at 18 months. Our students communicate in both languages, French and English, fluently. Spanish is taught as a third language from Kindergarten until Grade 6.
Here at ÉMIM, the students are taught how to read and write in cursive at the very start of Kindergarten. This early exposure to spoken and written language enables our students to develop their fluency at a steady pace. The Montessori activities are seamlessly integrated into the academic program, allowing students to develop a sound phonetic awareness.
With the help of the Montessori material, the children discover numeration; they learn how to count and carry out simple operations.
Throughout the primary years, students participate in lessons, activities and workshops that turn them into strong readers and writers. They possess and master a variety of reading and writing strategies that enable them to understand language and express themselves confidently!
