In the event of a school and/or classroom closure, ÉMIM offers different online learning models that can put into action to ensure that your child’s needs are being met!
BIMODAL LEARNING MODEL
A bimodal class (sometimes called “HyFlex”) describes a class in which some students and/or faculty are in a classroom and others are remote during the same synchronous session. This model is used when a class is still open, but some students or teachers must isolate at home.
REMOTE LEARNING MODEL MODEL
Remote learning is where the student and the educator, or information source, are not physically present in a traditional classroom environment. Information is relayed through technology, such as discussion boards, video conferencing (ZOOM), Google Classroom, and online assignments. This model is used when the classroom or school is closed to all students.
ASYNCHRONOUS LEARNING MODEL
An asynchronous learning model is used for a short-term absence. Students access personalized learning materials (readings, homework, PowerPoints, etc.) via a personal drive. Students submit their work via Google Classroom and receive individualized feedback from the teacher.
ÉMIM is a Google-friendly school! Our students from daycare to grade 6, use Google Classroom year round to connect and communicate!
